NEET Result 2020: NTA will release NEET Result and Cut-off List in a while

National Testing Agency (NTA) is going to release the National Eligibility Test cum Entrance Test 2020 (NEET 2020) results and cut-off list in a short time today. Before releasing the result today, Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ has given best wishes to the students who participated in the NEET exam.

The results of NEET examination held on 13 and 14 September are being released today. Candidates whose marks are more than 50 percent in this examination will be considered successful. However, for admission in Medical College and Dental College, seats will be given through merit based counseling.

Counseling will be done by the National Medical Commission (NMC) in place of Medical Counseling of India. NEET exam was held on 13 September but due to missing some students, a special examination was also conducted. This year, 14.37 lakh candidates had appeared in the examination. 

Results of NEET 2020 will be released on NTA website nta.ac.in i.e. NEET website ntaneet.nic.in . Students will be able to see their results by logging in from the enrollment number given on their admit card.

Merit list of states will be released after National Merit- After the release of National Merit List of NEET , the colleges of the states will also issue their cut-off list. Since last year, the top medical colleges of AIIMS (AIIMS) and JIPMER have also started admitting students from their merit in NEET. Earlier these colleges used to conduct their own entrance examinations. Under All India Quota, 15% seats in each medical college are reserved. The remaining seats are filled on the basis of merit list of the state.

Types of Merit List
National Testing Agency issues merit list of candidates of NEET for taking admission in top medical colleges and dental colleges in the country. This merit list is prepared on the basis of ranking of the result. The ATA issues three types of merit list – 1- AIR merit list, 2- AIQ merit list and 3- State merit list.
