Production on Venkat Prabhu’s bilingual Telugu-Tamil movie starring Naga Chaitanya started a few months ago. Krithi Shetty plays the female lead in the movie, tentatively named NC22. On Chaitanya’s birthday, the film’s title and first image were revealed by the creators. The first look poster for the movie “Custody” shows Naga Chaitanya in a vicious avatar. Sharing the first look poster, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “Our Beloved
@chay_akkineni’s B’Day Celebrations on!! Here we GO, the RAGING First Look & Title of #NC22 # – A @vp_offl HUNT #CustodyFL @IamKrithiShetty @thearvindswami @ilaiyaraaja @thisisysr @SS_Screens@srinivasaaoffl @realsarathkumar #Priyamani #VP11”
The “pre-look poster” shows Chaitanya dressed as a police officer being held at gunpoint by a bunch of thugs. Only Chaitanya’s eyes are visible to us, and they are free of all fear and uncertainty. It implies that he can battle all day long, regardless of how much punishment he receives.
But the movie poster is uncannily similar to the smash hit Nobody starring actor Bob Odenkirk. The Hollywood movie’s first-look poster showed Bob in a similar situation with a bruised face amid a hail of punches. The movie is about a middle-aged man dealing with a midlife crisis through a series of street fights.
The untitled film is being directed by filmmaker Venkat Prabhu and is currently known as NC 22. It’s an instance of talent from the Tamil and Telugu cinema industries working together across industries. The movie, which is filmed in both Tamil and Telugu, will be Chaitanya’s official Kollywood debut. Keerthy Shetty plays the prominent female role.
The shooting of NC 22 began in September, and production is moving along quickly.
