Mohanlal rang in the new year 2023 with filmmaker Bhadran, with whom he collaborated on the 1995 blockbuster ‘Spadikam,’ which is also set for a re-release. The superstar began the year 2023 by cutting a cake with Bhadran. The filmmaker has posted snippets of their meeting on social media. He mentioned that his new year began on a high note. Mohanlal is seen cutting the cake and eating it with Bhadran in the photos. The pictures also include the superstar’s wife, Suchitra.
‘Spadikam,’ directed by Bhadran and starring Mohanlal, is being re-released after 27 years. The film has been given a 4K Dolby Atmos makeover and will be released in theatres on February 9, 2023. “My Aduthoma, which you have always held dear to your heart, is being re-released with all the new-age technical excellence that you wished for. “‘Spadikam’ 4k Atmos will be released in theatres worldwide on February 9, 2023,”Mohanlal announced.
‘Spadikam,’ one of 1995’s highest-grossing films, revolves around a mathematician father and his son Aadu Thoma. Thespian late Thilakan played the father Chacko, and Mohanlal played the son. Even 27 years after its initial release, the film has achieved cult status, and movie lovers in Kerala are excited about its re-release.
Mohanlal will soon be joining the sets of Lijo Jose Pellissery’s directorial ‘Malaikottai Valiban’. The film is expected to begin production in the third week of January of this year. The trailer for Malayalam film Alone starring Mohanlal was released recently. He is the only character in the film, which will also feature actors Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, and Siddique in voice roles.
