Mammootty has a number of extremely intriguing acting projects in the works, keeping him very busy. The renowned director Jeo Baby’s next social drama Kaathal: The Core, which stars the megastar of Malayalam cinema, is now in production. On November 12, Saturday, the highly anticipated project’s first look poster is expected to be unveiled. In the meantime, Mammootty commemorated the 27th anniversary of The King, one of his biggest box office hits, and his enduring role as Joseph Alex Thevalliparambil IAS.

To commemorate the 27th anniversary of their critically acclaimed film The King, the renowned actor-director team got together again after a considerable break. Recently, filmmaker Shaji Kailas himself announced the big development in a social media post. On his official Instagram account, the hitmaker posted a nice photo of himself and leading man Mammootty along with the caption, “Sharing Happiness… Today 27th year… THE KING,” The megastar can be seen in the image sporting his trademark ensemble of a beige casual shirt and dhoti.

The movie buffs, who are eager to see Mammootty and Shaji Kailas again, are now predicting that the director and the megastar may work together again on a project soon. The veteran director, who returned to Malayalam cinema with the Prithviraj Sukumaran-starring Kaduva after a long gap of six years, is currently working on the post-production of his Mohanlal project Alone and the multi-starrer Kaapa. Mammootty and Shaji Kailas, meanwhile, have not yet responded to the reports.

According to reports, the megastar would make a comeback in Tamil films with M Manikandan’s upcoming project. By the middle of 2023, he intends to begin filming on Bilal, the eagerly anticipated follow-up to his 2007 feature Big B, directed by Amal Neerad. Mammootty’s upcoming films, Christopher by B. Unnikrishnan and Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam by Lijo Jose Pellissery, are currently being prepared for release.
