Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, MSBSHE has announced on Wednesday 27 May 2020 that it will provide the average marks obtained in other subjects for the 10th-grade geography exam, which was canceled due to coronavirus epidemic. The MSBSHSE had canceled the examination of geography due to the coronavirus epidemic, which was to take place on 23 March 2020.
The circular stated, ‘Since the pending geography paper was canceled, the board has decided to give the average marks obtained by SSC students in the written examination of other subjects.’ The board will also apply the same rules for the professional subjects for disabled students, which were canceled due to the epidemic. The notice stated, ‘Average marks obtained in written, oral, practical and internal assessment of other subjects will be awarded for the subject.’
More than 17 lakh students had appeared in the Secondary School Certificate SSC, examination held in Maharashtra this year. The examinations were conducted from 3 March to 23 March 2020. The Maharashtra government had laid down very strict guidelines for conducting class 12 exams in the state this year. Cameras and flying squads were deployed to monitor the examinations.
