Kollywood star Simbu is honored with a “Doctorate “at Vels University for being “distinguished excellence in the field of cinema.” A couple of photographs of the entertainer spruced up for the doctorate function have surfaced via online media. Devotees of the entertainer are giving STR congratulation messages via web-based media.
Silambarasan Thesingu Rajendar, otherwise called S.T.R. or then again Simbu has finished thirty years in the entertainment world. From playing a child artist in films directed by his dad T. Rajendar to being a part of films like Eeswaran, Maanaadu, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, Kovil, Vaalu, among others, Simbu has acquired a huge fan following and has figured out how to set the right foot in the business.
Before Simbu, a doctorate was conferred upon to ace actors like MG Ramachandran, Sivaji Ganesan, Kamal Haasan, Vijay, Vikram among others.

Dr. Ishari K Ganesh, organizer, administrator, and Chancellor of Vels University said, “This year, the committee members, have unanimously decided that actor Silambarasan TR would be the worthy recipient of this honorary doctorate. I would like to clarify that it has nothing to do with the fact that the actor is a part of movies produced by Vels Film International.”
Simbu was awarded a doctorate today at a ceremony chaired by Ishri Ganesh, founder of the University of Vels, for his outstanding contribution to the film industry. It is worth mentioning that Ishri Ganesh is currently producing ‘Vendu Thanindundu Kaadu’ directed by Gautham Menon and starring Simbu. Simbu is currently busy juggling between the shoots of multiple projects.
