With four consecutive commercial successes, Lokesh Kanagaraj has established himself as one of the most sought-after directors in the Tamil film industry. Just a day ago, director Lokesh Kanagaraj revealed that his next film will be announced soon after watching Vijay’s ‘Varisu’ on its release day. It is widely known that actor Vijay’s next film, tentatively titled ‘Thalapathy 67,’ will be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Meanwhile, Lokesh Kanagaraj revealed yesterday at another event in the city that filming has already begun and that an official announcement can be expected within the next ten days.
We reported a few weeks ago, based on a now-deleted social media post by actor Manobala, that filming for ‘Thalapathy 67’ had begun even before the project’s official announcement. With Lokesh Kanagaraj himself revealing that filming has already begun, fans are eagerly awaiting the film’s announcement. After the film’s announcement, the unconventional director promised to provide regular updates on the project.
Meanwhile, there appears to be high anticipation for the film, with reports circulating that it will be part of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe). While director Gautham Menon has confirmed his involvement in the film, Bollywood actors Sanjay Dutt, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Trisha, Mansoor Ali Khan, and Arjun Sarja are also said to be involved. Thalapathy 67 will feature Trisha Krishnan as the female lead and Sanjay Dutt as the antagonist
Lokesh’s last film, Vikram made an impressive Rs 426 crore at the worldwide box office. The film stars Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupati, and Fahad Faasil in lead roles.
