Legendary actress KPAC Lalitha’s last rituals to be held at ‘Orma’, Wadakkancherry

With the death of the unbelievable actress KPAC Lalitha, the Malayalam entertainment world has for sure lost a jewel. The veteran entertainer died on Tuesday, February 22. She was 74. The funeral service of the actress will be held today at 5 pm in Wadakkancherry with full state respect.

The funeral service will occur at her home in Wadakancherry named ‘Orma’. For the general public to offer recognition, the mortal remains of the veteran actress were kept at Layam Koothambalam in Thrippunithura from 8 am to 11.30 am. Following this, the body was taken to Thrissur and then at Sangeetha Nataka Akademi from 2 pm.

During her last days, KPAC Lalitha was staying with her child Sidharth Bharathan at his home in Thrippunithura. She was married to a famous Malayalam movie director late Bharathan, the actress KPAC Lalitha is survived by her son and daughter Sreekutty Bharathan.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan paid tribute to the actress alongwith the other M-Town superstars like Mohanlal, Mammootty, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, Asif Ali, Tovino Thomas, and Navya Nair.

KPAC Lalitha started her acting profession as a theater artist with ‘Kerala People’s Arts Club’ (KPAC), a performance theater group in Kerala. She has completed more than fifty years in the film industry. KPAC Lalitha has performed memorable roles in over 500 films. She was also the chairperson of the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi until she turned out to be seriously unwell. She won two National Awards for the best-supporting part and four state awards. The real name of the actress was Maheshwari Amma.
