In memory of Oommen Chandy’s great loss to the people of Kerala and to me personally; Kunchacko Boban noted, “Oommen Chandy sir. a person who is one of the most popular leaders in Kerala politics. A personality that is undoubtedly synonymous with selflessness in public and personal life. His death is a great loss to the people of Kerala and to me personally. In the pain of this separation, I and my family join in prayer with that family.”
He had been battling cancer for an extended period and passed away at Bengaluru Chinmaya Mission Hospital at 4.25 am on Tuesday. To mourn the demise of Oommen Chandy, the government has declared a public holiday in the state today, along with a two-day official mourning. The funeral will be held on Thursday at 2 pm at Puthupally Church.
