Actor Sreenath Bhasi has been temporarily banned by the Kerala Film Producers’ Association (KFPA) after a recent complaint against him for aggressively insulting a female anchor during an interview. It was apparently determined in a meeting conducted by the association on Tuesday (Sep 27) that the association will not work with the actor for new projects. The choice was made following the anchor’s KFPA complaint against Sreenath Bhasi.

Sreenath Bhasi won’t be involved in any new projects, per the association’s decision, but he will be permitted to finish the ones that are already underway. Sreenath Bhasi allegedly came before KFPA representatives on Tuesday and admitted his error, therefore the organization is only taking temporary disciplinary action against him.

After the female anchor reported Sreenath Bhasi for verbal abuse, he was taken into custody on Monday (Sep 26). While being questioned for his next movie “Chattambi,” the actor is accused of verbally abusing the female anchor and the staff of an entertainment website. The following day, the actor was granted bail and freed. The actor was arrested and released on bail by Maradu police on Monday on the basis of her complaint.

In order to determine whether Sreenath Bhasi used drugs during the contentious interview, the police have also taken samples of his blood, hair, and nails. The KFPA had received another complaint that the actor had violated an agreement by collecting an additional salary for a movie. Sreenath Bhasi broke the terms of his contract with the film’s creators by collecting additional compensation for a movie.
