Tamil and Bollywood film industries have taken the bold step of releasing their movies on OTT platforms skipping theatrical release during corona virus pandemic crisis and lockdown. As it takes much longer time for the theatres to get back to work.
Keerthy Suresh’s Tamil film “Penguin” is also skipping the theatrical release and it’s scheduled to release on Amazon Prime Video next month. Buzz is that Keerthy’s another Telugu film may also release on OTT platform.
But Telugu producers are still hesitant to release their movies OTT Platforms as it might effect the runs of their future movies in theatres.
But the news in the industry is that the makers of Keerthy Suresh’s Telugu movie “Miss India” are now holding discussions with the streaming companies about the release.
If the companies offer better pricing, the producer may go for the OTT platform.
“Miss India” is directed by a newcomer and produced by Mahesh Koneru.
