Karnataka Bypoll Result 2019

The Congress has accepted defeat in view of the trends so far in the Karnataka Bypolls held in 15 assembly seats in Karnataka. Congress leader DK Shivkumar said, ‘The public has accepted the defectors’. Let us tell you that Congress has suffered the biggest setback in these by-elections and if this trend is still prevailing, then the party is seen losing 9 out of 12 seats. The results of these by-elections are extremely important for the BJP (BJP) government of BS Yediyurappa, as the ruling party needs at least 7 seats for a majority in the 223-member assembly. In July, the coalition government of HD Kumaraswamy fell due to the resignation of a total of 17 Congress-JDS MLAs. after this BJP government was formed under the leadership of BS Yeddyurappa . The then speaker disqualified these MLAs from contesting elections. However, the Supreme Court in November allowed these disqualified MLAs to contest elections. By the way, elections were to be held on 17 seats which were vacant due to the resignation of MLAs. But due to the matter of two seats in the court, elections were held on 15 seats at the moment.

Yeddyurappa claims to win 13 seats
Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa has claimed that his party will win at least 13 seats. The Chief Minister said that BJP will get 13 seats, while the remaining two seats will be given to Congress and JDS. He said that our party will do the overall development of the state in the next three and a half years. Hopefully the opposition Congress and JDS will help me in running the administration smoothly. Yeddyurappa also said that the BJP government will complete its term and return to power again by winning at least 150 seats in the next assembly elections. He said with full confidence that the Congress will remain in opposition. Explain that BJP has given tickets to 13 disqualified MLAs out of the 16 who joined the party from their respective constituencies. He won the Congress and JDS tickets in the 2018 assembly elections. Of the 15 seats held by-elections, 12 were held by the Congress and three by the JDS.

Prior to the results, the leaders of the
state sought Sunday’s blessings by worshiping in temples and monasteries before counting the teka matha in the temples. Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa went to the shrine and took the blessings of Lord Manjunath. Amidst the chanting, Yeddyurappa performed a special puja to win his party’s victory in the elections and successfully complete the next three and a half year term. After completion of the puja, the priest tied a turban on his head. At the same time, former Prime Minister and JDS chief HD Deve Gowda went to Saibaba temple in Shirdi, Maharashtra. Deve Gowda said, ‘Ram and Rahim are the same for me. I prayed to Sai Baba for the betterment and development of the country.

67.91 percent voting was done
in the election held on December 5, 67.91 percent voting was done. The counting of votes will begin at 8 am at 11 centers and all results are expected by noon. At present, the BJP has 105 MLAs (including an Independent), 66 Congress and 34 JDS MLAs. Apart from these, there is a member of BSP, a nominated MLA and a Speaker.

What is the mathematics of seats?
There are currently 207 MLAs in Karnataka. The BJP has one more 105 MLAs than the 104 required for majority. Now, after the election of 15 more MLAs, the strength of the house will be 222. In such a situation, BJP needs 112 MLAs for majority. So the BJP’s Yeddyurappa government will get a majority if it wins seven seats in this by-election, but the BJP wants to win at least eight seats, because the remaining two other seats will also have further elections, taking the majority figure to 113. In such a situation, the BJP wants to arrange a full majority in this by-election. Conversely, if the BJP could not win the seats as expected in the election of these 15 seats, then the dice could turn and there could be a possibility of the BJP losing power. Overall, the future of the BJP government of Karnataka rests on this election result.

Elections to these seats were held in
Gokak, Kagwad, Athani, Yellapura, Hirekerur, Ravbennur, Vijay Nagar, Chikballapur, KRpura, Yeshwantpura, Mahalaxmi Laiut, Shivaji Nagar, Hoskote, Hansur and KR Pete Assembly seats. Two seats Muskie and Rajarajeshwari will be held later.
