Kannada Actor Sanjjanaa Galrani Arrested By CCB In Drugs Scandal Case

As per recent developments in the Sandalwood drugs probe, actor Sanjjanaa Galrani was arrested by the Central Crime Branch of Bengaluru. Read the details here. On a day when Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Mumbai, another Sandalwood actress, Sanjjanaa Galrani, was arrested by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) in Bengaluru for her alleged involvement in the drug scandal that has shaken Sandalwood.
Sanjjanaa has around 40 movies in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam to her credit, of which Ganda Hendathi, Mylari and Dandupalya 2 were box office hits.
The CCB officials raided Sanjjanaa’s house in Indiranagar on early Tuesday early morning and seized her properties. She was first taken to the CCB head office for questioning and then to the KC General hospital for a medical examination. She was then produced before the court and remanded to police custody for five days. She has been lodged at the state home for women where Ragini is also currently housed.
As reported by PTI, The Central Crime Branch of Bengaluru arrested Kannada actor Sanjjanaa Galrani as the police widened its drug probe and found its links with the Kannada industry. The massive development comes days after actor Ragini Dwivedi was taken into custody on drug-peddling charges. PTI further claims that Sanjjanaa Galrani was raided by CCB at her Indira Nagar residence on September 8, after which, the actor was taken to the CCB office for interrogation.
Ragini Dwivedi was arrested on September 4 by the CCB and was remanded to police custody for three days which was later extended by five more days. According to sources, accused Rahul Shetty, who was arrested on September 4, had disclosed Sanjjanaa’s name after he was arrested and questioned on Friday in connection with parties held in Bengaluru where drug use and peddling was allegedly rampant. Another accused called Niyaz also linked Sanjjanaa to these parties.
Sanjjanaa is said to have been close to Ragini and Ravishankar, a close friend of the former, who was also arrested in the drug scandal. CCB sources said that Shetty, a realtor, and architect, ran a casino in Sri Lanka. Shetty organized private parties in the city which were often attended by Sanjjanaa.
Shetty allegedly supplied drugs at his private parties and Sanjjanna is suspected to be a part of his business. Sanjjanaa is also said to be close to the other accused Niyaz who is a small-time Malayalam actor who also
runs a talent show, said officials. Niyaz used to supply drugs at private parties, including Shetty’s parties.
