According to rumors, a number of failures caused Indian 2, which was directed by Shankar and starred Kamal Haasan, to be shelved in 2021. According to recent rumors, Kamal Haasan is now in the US for the film’s production. He has plans to stay for close to 3 weeks. Additionally, reports state that director Shankar would pick up the shoot again in September.

According to rumors, Kamal Haasan and Shankar have resolved all their problems and spoken with Lyca Productions about restarting the film in September. The producers of the Kamal Haasan-starring film are awaiting official word on the matter. Shankar is currently working on RC15, which stars Ram Charan.

The Vikram actor, in an interview with a famous news channel, confirmed that Indian 2 is not halted and the team will reunite to complete the project soon. Kamal Haasan revealed that “We had so many things coming in between, apart from the fact that it’s a very big film. We had COVID, we had an accident on the set where people died. It’s so unnerving but we continued.”

Kamal Haasan further revealed that the stakeholders were figuring out the new shooting timetable. “Indian 2 will happen. We are all working on it, we are all talking to Lyca Production. They are also keen to shoot, so now it’s just a question of getting everything together on the logistic front,”

Indian 2 is a sequel to the superstar’s 1996 blockbuster, Indian, helmed by Shankar. The original female lead, Kajal Agarwal, is not part of the film. Due to her pregnancy, the actress had to leave Indian 2. Producers are considering casting Trisha Krishnan or Tamannaah Bhatia in her place.
