Kamal Haasan will undergo a surgical procedure today to remove a transplant that was placed in his leg in 2016. Kamal Haasan had an eventful 65th birthday with celebrations going on for three days. On his birthday (November 7), he unveiled the statue of his dad D Srinivasan in his hometown Paramakudi. He then came to Chennai to unveil K Balachander’s (his cinema guru) statue along with Rajinikanth. Kamal Haasan, last seen in the box office dud Vishwaroopam 2. The actor underwent major surgery in his leg in 2016 after suffering a nasty fall from 18 feet at his Chennai office. During the surgery, an implant was placed in his leg. The surgical procedure, which is slated to start, aids in the removal of the implant.
In 2016, Kamal Haasan had a major health scare when he fell off from 18 feet. In an earlier interview with Deccan Chronicle, he said, “I fell a good 18 feet from my favorite corner of my office, which I had been using to brood and ruminate for many years. The floor simply collapsed under me, and just caved in!”
On the professional side of things, Kamal is working on the eagerly awaited Indian 2, a sequel to the 1996 cult hit Indian/Hindustani. The film, helmed by S Shankar, has the veteran paired opposite Kajal Aggarwal and this has piqued the curiosity. Actors Siddharth and Rakul Preet to are a part of the dream project, likely to release sometime in 2021. After the completion of Indian 2, he will start shooting for Thalaivan Irukkiran, which is a sequel to Kamal Haasan and Sivaji Ganesan’s iconic film, Thevar Magan.
