Justice SA Bobde was sworn in as the Chief Justice of India !

Justice Sarath Aravind Bobde (SA Bobde) has been sworn in as the 47th Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. President Ramnath Kovind administered the oath of office this morning. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers, Supreme Court, and High Court judges were also present. He will remain in thapost till April 23, 2021. Nagpur in Maharashtra. He obtained his law degree from Nagpur University. In 1978 he became a lawyer. Appointed Supreme Court judge on April 12, 2013, Sabarimala review petitions and the petition filed by the Muslim Personal Law Board against Ayodhya verdict will now be considered by a bench headed by Justice Bobde.

He was a senior lawyer in 1998 and an additional judge in the Bombay High Court in 2000. He was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court on October 16, 2012. Supreme Court judge from April 12, 2013. Justice Bobde was part of a five-member constitutional bench that issued the verdict in the Babri land dispute. Bobde comes from a Nagpur-based lawyers’ family.

 

His grandfather was a lawyer. Bobde’s father Arvind Bobde was an advocate-general of Maharashtra in 1980 and 1985. Bobde’s elder brother late Vinod Arvind Bobde was a senior Supreme Court lawyer and a constitutional expert. Bobde completed his graduation at SFS College Nagpur and studied Law at Dr. Ambekar Law College, Nagpur University in 1978. He enrolled as an advocate on 13 September 1978, practiced at the Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court with appearances before the principal seat at Bombay and before the Supreme Court of India and became Senior Advocate in 1998. Bobde was appointed as an additional judge of Bombay High Court on 29 March 2000.
