The official teaser for Mammootty’s next survival drama, “2018,” which is based on the Kerala floods that occurred in 2018, was released. Jude Anthany Joseph, a skilled director best known for his feature debut Om Shanthi Oshana, is in charge of the picture. Mammootty’s remarks about filmmaker Jude Anthany’s haircut during his address at the teaser launch event caused quite a stir on social media. Internet users have criticised the seasoned actor for what they perceived to be body-shaming the director.

For the uninitiated, Mammootty said in Malayalam that Jude Anthany, despite having no hair on his head, is a phenomenally creative director with an outstanding mind. Internet users took issue with the Rorschach actor’s statement because they believed he body-shamed bald people. Mammootty later apologized for making the statement on his official social media accounts and thanked his followers for catching the error.

“Dear all, I am sorry that some of you were offended by the enthusiastic words used by me to praise director Jude Antony at the trailer launch event of the ‘2018’ movie that happened yesterday. Further care will be taken not to repeat such practices. Thanks for all the reminders,” reads Mammootty’s post.

The filmmaker, however, justified Mammootty’s remarks by asserting that he is well aware of the megastar’s love for him and pleading with internet users not to misinterpret the terms the megastar used to express his admiration for his talent. Jude Anthany Joseph also made the amusing statement that everyone should blame the water supply provided by Bangalore Corporation and several shampoo brands for his hair loss. Later, the 2018 director also commented on Mammootty’s apology post and expressed his regret on how his hairstyle eventually landed his favorite actor in trouble.
