Joy Mathew Reacts To Cyber Attacks

Balachandran Chullikad was elected as the President of the FEFCA Writers Union last day. The opposition candidate was actor Joy Mathew. Chullikad got 50 votes out of 72 while Joy Mathew got 21 votes. After losing to Chullikad, Joy Mathew faced a massive cyber attack. Joy Mathew has now reacted strongly against this. The actor said that the reason for my crucifixion is not because I plagiarized a poem, stole a bunch of bananas, filmed a neighbor’s female friend’s bathroom, or smuggled tons of intoxicants in a lorry. I prefer to stand up and lose.

I saw a bunch of misfits mistaking democracy for party rule and celebrating my defeat in the Film Writers Union (FEFCA). Even though my opponent was strong, talented, and a long-time friend, I ran with the intention that this is not an organization that should not be questioned and that opposing voices, even if they are shrill, should be heard. In that sense, the fact that the voice of twenty-one of the seventy-two was not so small gave me more confidence.
