In the last few days, many smartphones have entered the mid-range segment. One of these is the iQOO Z3 smartphone. This smartphone of Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO has been launched in three variants – 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB. The starting price of the phone is Rs 19,990. The company gave us the top-variant of this smartphone i.e. 8 GB + 256 GB model to review. The team of Live Hindustan used this smartphone for almost a month and tested every feature and specification of it. So let’s know how the performance of iQOO Z3 was after using it for a month and whether this phone has the power to be called the best in the segment of 20 to 23 thousand rupees or not.
The design of the phone did impress,
First of all we will talk about its design. In terms of design, this phone impressed us a lot. The display of the phone is with a water-drop notch design, but its bottom chin may make you feel a bit thick. The frame and rear panel of the phone are plastic. Talking about the back panel, it comes with a matte glossy finish and that is why it feels quite smooth to touch. Due to the matte finish, it does not even have fingerprints. On the rear panel of the phone, the camera setup has been given in the upper left side.
The camera setup is housed in the vertical unit. It has three cameras with LED flash. The primary camera comes with a silver border lining. We had come across the Ace Black unit of this phone, which offers gray and black gradient effects and it felt quite premium in the hand as well.
Volume rocker and power button are given on the right edge of the phone. The fingerprint of the phone is embedded in the power button itself and it works very fast. At the bottom of the phone, you will find a USB Type-C charging port along with a single speaker grille. The special thing about the phone is that you will also get to see a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is present next to the speaker grill at the bottom. The left edge of the phone is completely empty and the SIM tray is present on the left side in the upper edge.
Excellent screen performance in gaming and video
You will get a 6.58 inch Full HD + IPS display in the phone. This is an LCD panel. If the company had offered an AMOLED display at this price point, the screen experience would have been better. However, in this phone, the company is giving a refresh rate of 60 to 120Hz, which does not allow the lack of AMOLED screen. The performance of this screen is excellent in gaming and watching videos.
Comes with up to 3GB of Extended RAM Phone
iQOO Z3 is the first smartphone in India, which comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G processor. The company has launched this phone with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage option. Another special feature of the phone is that it comes with Extended RAM feature up to 3 GB. Micro SD card support up to 1TB is also provided in the phone. The combo of RAM and processor found in the phone is excellent.
The phone runs very smooth during gaming and multi-tasking. There is no lag in the performance of the phone even on heavy gaming and high-refresh rate. To ensure that the phone does not heat up during gaming, five-layer liquid cooling technology has been used in it.
In the back of the phone, 64 megapixel main camera
iQOO Z3 phone, the company is offering AI triple rear camera setup with LED flash. It has an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera with a 64-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. This smartphone cannot be called the best in terms of photography, but it definitely gives a tough competition to many smartphones in this segment.
The photos taken from the phone during the day are quite sharp and bright. The clarity of these is also very good. The ultra-wide angle camera given in the phone also does its job well. However, its detailing could have been improved a bit. Some users may feel the lack of detailing of the ultra-wide angle camera, but it does not make much difference in normal usage.
If we talk about the 2-megapixel macro camera given in it, then it gives decent output and you will not have any special complaints about it.
A 16-megapixel camera has been given in the phone for selfie. During the day, this selfie camera performs well, but sometimes the selfie camera produces too bright output. Its performance in night mode is average. To make the user’s face look beautiful, many modes have also been given in it, which is liked by many users nowadays.
The phone gets fully charged in less than 1 hour,
The phone has a 4400mAh battery. This battery comes with 55W fast charging support. Thanks to the 55W fast charging, this phone gets fully charged in less than an hour. At the same time, with the help of the variable refresh rate feature given in it, the battery life can also be increased. In normal usage, this phone lasts for a day on a single charge. On the other hand, if you are a heavy user and watch gaming and a lot of online videos in the phone, then this battery supports for about 7 hours on full charge. We really liked the power management of the phone.
Buy or try other options?
iQOO Z3 offers best-in-class features and specs in the mid-range segment. The fast charging, 120Hz screen and Snapdragon 768G processor given in it make it a powerful handset. On the other hand, if you want to move away from the new brand to the already existing brands, then you have options like Reality X7 5G and Poco X3 Pro. Overall, the iQOO Z3 has the power to compete with the best selling smartphones of other companies in almost every respect.
