Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB, RCB) batting badly in the eliminator match of IPL 2020, due to which the team suffered a 6-wicket defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad. No RCB batsman could play ahead of the Hyderabad bowlers. Captain Virat Kohli (Virat kohli) came into the match with Devdat Padiqkal in the opening and he had Aaron Finch batting at number three. Former Indian team batsman Sachin Tendulkar has expressed surprise at Kohli’s decision to open.
Sachin Tendulkar said in his YouTube channel, ‘Holder’s opening spell was amazing and I was surprised to see Virat opening. This was a different strategy, which did not go away. Virat looked positive, but when Holder was bowling him, he was trying to cut the line. He was trying to cover the out swing of the holder, going towards the bowler and shortening the distance so that the swing could cut, but the holder was getting more bounce than the rest of the bowlers due to the length. And that was the trick, Virat got beat by bounce.
Kohli’s decision to start the innings against Hyderabad did not work much and he could only score 6 runs in 7 balls. Aaron Finch, who came to bat at number three, had scored 32 runs in 30 balls and RCB team could score 131 runs in this match after losing 7 wickets in 20 overs.
