Biryani, directed by award-winning international filmmaker Sajin Babu, hits theatres on the 26th of this month. Kani Kusruthi, who played the lead role in the film, won the State Award for Best Actress. Kani Biryani portrays a woman who fights against religious evils. Biryani has been screened in more than 50 film festivals since 2020 and has won over 20 awards. Biryani won Best Picture and Best Actress at the 6th Kaleidoscope India Film Festival in Boston. Kani Kusruthi was nominated for Best Actress in a BRICS Competition at the 42nd Moscow Film Festival. Kani Kusruthi won Best Supporting Actress at the Imagine International Film Festival in Spain.
