The Indian women’s team, which has already won the T20 series, took the ODI series with the same aggression. India defeated South African women by 5 wickets in the second ODI on Friday. India won the match with two overs to spare, as the Player of the Match scored a century by Poonam Raut (65 off 92 balls; 7 fours) and Captain Mithali Raj (82 off 66; 8 fours). India won the three-match ODI series 2–0 with another match remaining. South Africa was bowled out for 247 after losing 6 wickets in their 50 overs. Openers Lizelle Lee (40; 3 fours, six) and Laura Wolward (69; 7 fours) opened the scoring with 76 runs for the first wicket.

South Africa’s 142/3 came to a close after the preseason (44; 2 fours, six). However, the tourists were bowled out less than expected as the Indian bowlers bowled steadily in the end. Shikha Pandey, Ekta Bisht, and Poonam Yadav Chero impressed with two wickets. After that India lost 5 wickets in 48 overs and scored 248 runs. With Mithali Raj and Poonam Raut scoring half-centuries, India was able to reach the target with Harmanpreet Kaur (39 off 27 balls; five fours and six). The last ODI of the series will take place on the 14th of this month.
