American horror film The Pope’s Exorcist is about to release. The film will release worldwide on April 7. Directed by Julius Avery, the film stars Academy Award winner Russell Crowe as the lead character, Father Gabriel Amorth. The film also stars Daniel Sovatto, Alex Esso, and Franco Nero. The film is also inspired by the original files of Father Gabriel Amorth, a priest who served as the Vatican’s chief exorcist and performed more than 100,000 exorcisms during his lifetime.
The film is based on the memoirs of Father Gabriel Amorth in his book An Exorcist Tells His Story An Exorcist. A boy exorcist investigates the appalling possessions and centuries the Vatican desperately tries to cover up. The plot of the film is about uncovering an old conspiracy. The film was shot in Dublin and Limerick, Ireland from August to October 2022. Sony Pictures is bringing the film to theaters.
