Heavy food eating habits after 6 pm cause heart diseases in women

A study report of the American Heart Association’s Scientific Research says that “Heavy food eating habits after 6 pm lead to heart diseases in women. Consuming a higher proportion of daily calories after 6 pm is associated with a greater risk of developing cardiovascular diseases such as heart attack and stroke in women”.

The research, to be presented at the American Heart Association’s Scientific Sessions in Philadelphia in the US evaluated the cardiovascular health of 112 women with an average age of 33 (44 percent Hispanic) by measuring their cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels at the beginning of the study, and one year later.
The researchers, including those from Columbia University from the US, used the American Heart Association’s Life’s Simple 7 measures which represent the heart disease risk factors people can overcome through lifestyle changes such as not smoking, being physically active, eating healthy foods and controlling body weight.

The way in which the researchers conduct the experiment by they kept electronic food diaries by computer or cell phone to each participant, that record what, how much, and when they ate for one week at the beginning of the study, and for one week 12 months later. The researchers used the data from the food diary completed by each woman to determine the relationship between heart health and the timing of when they ate.

They found that while most study participants consumed some food after 6 PM, those who consumed a higher proportion of their daily calories after this time had poorer heart health. The heart health declined with every 1 percent rise in calories consumed after 6 pm, the researchers said. So this eating habit will cause higher blood pressure, higher body mass index, and poorer long-term control of blood sugar.”So far, lifestyle approaches to preventing heart disease have focused on what we eat and how much we eat,” said study lead author Nour Makarem from Columbia University.

The World Obesity Federation conducted a study reveals, around 28 million children in India will be obese by the year 2030 and the country would rank second in the world in terms of the high number of obese people, consultant surgeon Prabhu Nesargikar has said. The report says India has an obese population of 14 crores and only a comprehensive approach towards obesity, metabolic disorders and adequate awareness on bariatric surgery for weight loss would go a long way in addressing the problem. obesity has always been the root cause of many metabolic disorders like diabetes, hypertension, heart and liver problems, respiratory and joint pain issues. “The studies have revealed that obesity is also associated with infertility, and is considered the number one cause of cancer across the world. Doctors say obese children are more at risk of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, breathing difficulties, bone and joint problems, and even type-2 diabetes. They are also more likely to have weight problems as adults, they said. The number of young patients I treat for obesity-related ailments has doubled in the last five years, says Dr. Krishan Chugh, Director, and Head of Department, Paediatrics, Fortis Memorial Research Institute. Pramod and Aastha were a worried couple when their son Parth, 7, started gaining weight a few years ago. The problem was compounded with pain in the legs, compelling the couple to consult a doctor. This problem among teenagers can be attributed to unhealthy eating habits, poor physical activity levels, less sleep combined with increasing screen time. The most common reasons are a sedentary lifestyle, increased screen-time, lack of role models in families and easy access to junk food, etc.

Get proper sleep : Bad sleeping posture can even lead to chronic back pain in the morning. So, make sure you sleep for 7-8 hours at night in a good posture. Apart from this, your mattress and pillow can also give you lower back pain. So change them if they are 7 years old.

Avoid high heels: This is especially true for ladies who love to wear heels. You might feel good and confident after putting your favorite pair of heels, but wearing them often can give you back pain. High heels can shift your center of gravity and hurt your lower back. If you want to wear heels every day then make sure that the heel’s height is not more than one-inch.

More Than 80% Adolescents Worldwide Not Physically Active – WHO Report

85 percent of girls and 78 percent of boys are risking their health by not being physically active. More than 80 percent of adolescents worldwide are not physically active, including 85 percent girls and 78 percent boys, putting their health at risk by not doing regular exercise and spending too much time on screen, according to a new study from World Health Organization (WHO). The study, published in the journal The Lancet Child & Adolescent Health, based on data reported by 1.6 million 11 to 17-year-old students – found that across all 146 countries studied between 2001-2016, girls were less active than boys in all but four (Tonga, Samoa, Afghanistan, and Zambia).’Over 200 Million Children Undernourished or Overweight’: UNICEF report revealed.

The assessment included all types of physical activity, such as time spent in active play, recreation and sports, active domestic chores, walking, and cycling or other types of active transportation, physical education and planned exercise. Physical activity trends show slight improvement for boys, none for girls. The study found that the greatest decreases in boys being insufficiently active were Bangladesh – from 73 per cent to 63 per cent, Singapore (78 per cent to 70 per cent), Thailand (78 per cent to 70 per cent), Benin (79 per cent to 71 per cent), Ireland (71 per cent to 64 per cent), and the US (71 per cent to 64 per cent).
