In a significant development, the state has officially launched the ‘Wet Health’ program under the guidance of Health Minister Veena George. The Minister is slated to visit numerous taluk, district, and general hospitals across the state, marking the initiation of this transformative initiative. Accompanied by MLAs, representatives, health department directors, and other senior officials, the Minister’s visits aim to comprehensively assess the ongoing activities and progress within each healthcare facility. This unprecedented move sees a high-level delegation led by the Health Minister inspecting hospitals at various levels—taluk, district, and general. The primary objective is to enable direct evaluation of development activities at each hospital, allowing prompt action to address any identified deficiencies. As part of the program, daily review meetings will be conducted in districts, providing a platform for stakeholders, including MLAs and officials, to participate and contribute to the discussions. Minister Veena George emphasized the importance of public involvement in fully realizing the objectives of the Ardrum Mission. In alignment with ARDRAM norms, specialized services will be initiated starting from taluk hospitals.

During the visits, the Minister and the accompanying team will evaluate the current healthcare services, gather feedback from the community, review ongoing construction projects, assess safety measures as per established norms, and ensure the efficiency of waste management systems. In the initial phase of the program, hospitals in Ernakulam and Kottayam districts, including Kothamangalam, Moovatupuzha, Piravam, Kuramilangad, Pala, Kanjirapalli, Pampady, and Changanassery, are being visited. The next round of visits is scheduled for October 10, covering hospitals in Ernakulam and Alappuzha districts.
