Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said on Thursday that five years relaxation will be given in the age limit in police recruitment to candidates belonging to the economically weaker section. At present, the minimum age for a police job in Haryana is 18 years and the maximum age is less than 25 years. Making this announcement in the Legislative Assembly, Khattar said that the state government has implemented the provision of ten percent reservation in government jobs for the economically weaker section (EWS) on the pattern of the Center.

In response to a question, the Chief Minister said, “Until now, candidates of economically weaker sections did not get any age relaxation in police jobs. Suggestions have been received in this regard and after considering it, it has now been decided to give five years of relaxation in the age to the candidates of the economically weaker section for recruitment in the police department.
