IIT Kanpur declared the result of GATE late on Thursday night.Although the students were worried due to the problem in the website, but the institute released the analysis report.According to the release issued by the institute, this year only 18 per cent students have been able to qualify in GATE.A total of 6.70 lakh candidates had registered in GATE, out of which 5.17 lakh candidates appeared in the examination.According to the report, out of 29 papers, more than 20 per cent candidates have qualified in 12 papers.Maximum 25% candidates have qualified in Metallurgical Engineering.
Could not see the result
The result of GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) was to be released by IIT Kanpur at 4 pm on Thursday.With the release of the result, the website went bust.Due to this the students could not see the result.They were very worried to know the result.The students also lodged a complaint on Twitter.
IIT said late night that students can check their results by logging in.By qualifying GATE, one not only gets admission for master’s degree in engineering from IIT but also gets jobs and scholarships in various PSUs of the country on the basis of this score.Its examination was held on 4, 5, 11 and 12 February.GATE was conducted for 29 subjects.
