Corona has caused havoc all over the world. Now the dangerous virus is killing thousands of people. In such a situation, the vaccine appears to be the only option to save lives. From June 21, ie from today, the central government will provide free corona vaccine to all citizens above the age of 18 in every state across the country. The Government of India itself will buy 75 percent of the total vaccine production from the Corona vaccine manufacturers and give it to the state governments free of cost. At the same time, 25 percent of the vaccine being made in India can be taken directly by private sector hospitals, this system will continue. This was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi this month.

Significantly, several state governments had suggested that they be allowed flexibility to directly procure vaccines based on local requirements and deliver them according to their priority. After this the Government of India revised the guidelines.Center will provide free vaccines to the states for all citizens above 18 years. The Center will buy 75 per cent of the total vaccine production from vaccine manufacturers and give it free of cost to the state governments.

All people above 18 years of age in the country will be able to get free vaccination from June 21 at government facilities. However, many states were already providing free vaccines to all people in the age group of 18-44.The vaccine dose to be provided free of cost by the Center will be allocated to the States/UTs on the basis of factors such as population, disease burden and progress of vaccination.

 Private hospitals will continue to procure 25% of the vaccines directly from the manufacturers.The service charge of private hospitals will be Rs 150 per dose over and above the fixed price of the vaccine. The work of monitoring it will be with the state governments. States can make better use of General Service Centers and Call Centers to facilitate pre-booking by citizens.
