Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina won her thirtieth match of the calendar year in the third round of French Open tennis. Fourth seed and defending Wimbledon champion Rybakina eased past 50th-ranked Linda Noskova of the Czech Republic (6–3, 6–3). First seed and defending champion Iga Samthek also advanced (6-4, 6-0) after defeating US star Claire Lue. Iga and Rybakina are the leading stars in the title race in Paris. US Open runner-up Madison Keys was upset by US teammate Kayla Day (6–2, 4–6, 6–4).

Among the men’s top players, Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, and Casper Rudd reached the third round. Spain’s Alcarez, the top seed, beat Japan’s Taro Daniel (6–1, 3–6, 6–1, 6–2), while Djokovic, the third seed, overcame Hungary’s Marten Fuskovic (7–6, 6–0, 6–3). Eighth seed Italy’s Janic Zinner was upset by Germany’s Daniele Allmeier (6-7, 7-6, 1-6, 7-6, 7-5).
