Fahadh Faasil’s Malayankunju’s OTT release date announced

Fahadh-Faasil-36

On August 11, 2022, the Malayalam survival thriller Malayankunju, starring Fahadh Faasil, will be available on Amazon Prime Video. On the occasion of Fahadh’s birthday today, the movie’s creators finally revealed the eagerly anticipated update. The movie, which was directed by Sajimon Prabhakar, also prominently featured Rajisha Vijayan and Indrans.

Malayankunju is an emotional account of a man’s struggle to survive after becoming caught in a landslide. The movie, which also marks AR Rahman’s return to Mollywood after about three decades, was written by Mahesh Narayanan. Fahadh’s first significant film after Vikram’s enormous success is Malayankunju. The movie, which was shot 40 feet below earth, features strange passages that elevate a typical survival story to a new level.

“Malayankunju is one of the toughest films that I have shot so far. The second half of the film is set 40 feet underground, so we had to create a set where we had to crouch and crawl,” said Fahadh Faasil. Fahadh plays Anikuttan, an angry and lonely man who is stuck underground after a landslide strikes his community, in Sajimon Prabhakar’s film Malayankunju. The narrative demonstrates how he must find comfort in a child’s cries—a sound he had previously detested.

Fahadh will appear in two more movies in 2022: the Malayalam film Paachuvum Albhuthavilakkum and the Tamil film Maamannan, in which he co-stars with Keerthy Suresh. Then, in Pushpa: The Rule the following year, he would make a comeback as the insane cop Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. Before concluding, Fahadh also makes a vague suggestion that a Hindi film deal might potentially be on the table.
