Billionaire Elon Musk criticizes WhatsApp. It’s no secret that Elon Musk isn’t a fan of Meta-owned social networking platforms. The Twitter chief has also publicly endorsed WhatsApp’s rival messaging app Signal in the past. So it’s no surprise that Musk mocks WhatsApp and questions its credibility. Twitter engineer Ford Dabiri tweeted that WhatsApp appears to be secretly using the device’s microphone. “Whatsapp is using the microphone while I sleep and since I woke up at 6 am, what is happening? Elon Musk said “Whatsapp can’t be trusted” in response to Ford Dabiri’s tweet.

Social networking platform Twitter will soon allow sending encrypted direct messages, Twitter CEO announced. Musk said Twitter will soon roll out voice and video chat options. “Voice chat and video chat will soon be available from your handle to anyone on this platform, so you can talk to people anywhere in the world without giving out your phone number,” Musk tweeted. Musk said that would put the micro-blogging platform on the same list that includes Meta’s social media apps Facebook, Instagram, and more. Meanwhile, Musk clarified that accounts that have been inactive for years will be removed and archived.
