Dulquer Salmaan’s Hey Sinamika is now in theaters: Check review and rating

Choreographer-turned-director Brinda‘s Hey Sinamika, featuring Dulquer Salmaan, Kajal Aggarwal, and Aditi Rao Hydari, is a tangled romantic film. With irregular chuckles, the film is average at its ideal.

Director: Brinda
Cast: Dulquer Salmaan, Kajal Aggarwal, and Aditi Rao Hydari

Expert choreographer Brinda made her first time at the direction with Hey Sinamika, a romantic one. Over the years, romantic films, including Mouna Ragam, Alaipaayuthe, OK Kanmani, and Oh My Kadavule, among others are loved by the crowd. ‘Hey Sinamika’ is on comparable lines, however, has Brinda broken the ideal formula for an effective romantic film?

Yaazhan (Dulquer Salmaan), a unique soul, meets Mouna (Aditi Rao Hydari) at a beachside café. A sandstorm hits and, for a change, the hero needs to be saved. Mouna asks Yaazhan to trust her. After a progression of dates, they get hitched. After two years, Yaazhan is cheerful as a househusband, while, Mouna isn’t.

She is worn out on the over-garrulous Yaazhan (that is putting it mildly in any event, for the crowd) and the way that he doesn’t give her sufficient space. So, she reaches out to psychologist Malarvizhi (Kajal Aggarwal) to assist with her weak relationship. However, not by advising. Mouna requests that Malarvizhi draw near to Yaazhan so she can find a reason to separate from him.

Here is the trailer of Hey Sinamika:

‘Hey Sinamika’s’ story offers the same old thing however, there’s a contemporary thing in the setting and the struggles, Brinda made a heartfelt show that is for today’s young generation. While she gets the character arcs right, the screenplay turns out to be drab. Dulquer Salmaan, Aditi Rao, and Kajal Aggarwal’s characters are completely sorted through, however, they don’t make any difference in front of the average screenplay. The story doesn’t transcend the surface level and neglects to hold the consideration of the watchers. Each scene doesn’t feel natural.

The prospect of causing one more lady to lure her better half is cringeworthy. It is 2022 and the crowd has moved past all that. One more negative point of Hey Sinamika is contradicting ideologies. Mouna needs some space from Yaazhan’s tyrannical character. Furthermore, when she really gets it, she is in no situation to appreciate it. Since she is envious of Yaazhan living it up with Malarvizhi, the lady she set up to dazzle her better half. Additionally, Yaazhan says he doesn’t like people being over-optimistic. But, he is such a person.

Yaazhan has an irritating character, yet he is additionally incredibly cute. Dulquer has worked effectively of giving life to Yaazhan. His tyrannical character brings genuinely necessary chuckles when the film gets exhausting. Aditi Rao Hydari gets caricaturish in the first half, particularly when she attempts to be happy. Yaazhan and Mouna break into a dance whenever and anyplace when they were in love. Kajal Aggarwal plays a substantial part to play and her exhibition is sufficient.

Cinematographer Preetha Jayaraman’s visuals are tremendous. So is the outfit plan by Anu Parthasarathy. “Hey Sinamika” might have been more effective had it managed with the conflicts in a mature way.
