Covid19 cases surge Over the past few days, there has been a record rise in the number of Covid sufferers. 9887 people have been diagnosed with the disease in a single day. 294 deaths have also been reported. With this the death toll in the country has reached 6642.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 2,36,657 people have been diagnosed with the disease so far. Of these, 1,14,072 have been cured. There are currently 1,15,942 people undergoing treatment. According to the latest figures, India has climbed one place to sixth in the list of countries that have been most affected by Covid. India is the sixth largest corona after Italy. The top five are the US, Brazil, Russia, the UK and Spain.

Maharashtra has the largest number of Covid patients in India. Out of the total cases, 80229 cases were reported from Maharashtra. 2849 deaths have also been reported. States such as Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Rajasthan are leading in the number of patients. Globally, the number of Covid casualties is close to seven million. 6,850,236 have been confirmed by Covid so far. There were 398,244 deaths.
