Many flights to Dubai from Karipur and Kannur airports were canceled yesterday. The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a notice to the airlines banning four labs in the country, including Kozhikode-based Micro Health, for denying travel permits to those who came with the certificate.

Arma Lab in Valancherry, Malappuram, which is the franchisee of Micro Lab, collected the sap of 2500 people for testing. Only samples of 490 people were sent to the micro lab. The negative certificate was given on the fake letter pad of the micro lab without checking the secretions of the rest. A person who got such a negative certificate came to Saudi and got a positive test.

The police arrested the Arma Lab manager from Valancherry on their complaint. Lab owner Sunil Sadath, a native of Cherpulassery, has filed an anticipatory bail application in the high court. The Arma Lab test cost Rs 2,250 per person. The total amount stolen was more than Rs 45 lakh. Kozhikode Micro Health Lab is one of the first private labs in the state to get ICMR approval for Corona Test. The franchise committed a major fraud under the guise of this permit.
