Chiranjeevi received Indian Film Personality of the Year award

Megastar Chiranjeevi will get the Indian Film Personality of the Year award. The same was announced by Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting Anurag Thakur on Sunday. At the opening of the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI), the prestigious award was given.

Ahead of the ceremony, Anurag Thakur shared, “This year lots of premiers are happening here. Several new initiatives are taken. This time, 1,000 entries came for the 75 creative minds. 75 creative minds were chosen from 10 fields. People from remote areas also participated. 75 creative minds is for those who used to feel scared of coming to Mumbai, now their requirements are being bridged, and opportunities are being provided for all to be able to participate in the mainstream film industry. This IFFI platform is not just for Mumbai film industry but for people from across the nation to come together and work together. Season premier of OTT platform show will also be happening.”

Chiranjeevi has appeared in more than 150 films throughout the course of a nearly four-decade acting career. He has worked mostly on Telugu cinema. “Greatly Delighted and Humbled at this honour, Sri @ianuragthakur! My deep gratitude to Govt of India @MIB_India @IFFIGoa @Anurag_Office and all my loving fans only because of whom i am here today!” the actor said in a tweet.

The 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) got underway in Goa on Sunday. At the IFFI 2022 opening ceremony, several members of the film industry received special honors, including veteran writer Vijayendra Prasad, veteran actor Paresh Rawal, and actors Ajay Devgn, Suneil Shetty, and Manoj Bajpayee. Aparshakti Khurana, an actor, hosted the inaugural ceremony.
