Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh said on Wednesday that over 9.79 lakh posts are vacant in various departments of the central government, of which the maximum number of 2.93 lakh are in the Railways.Singh said that according to various ministries, departments and organizations of the central government, vacancies and filling up of posts is a continuous process.In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, he said, “The government has already issued instructions to fill up the vacant posts in all ministries and departments on time.The job fairs being organized by the Government of India can play an important role in employment generation. ”
Singh, citing the annual report of the Department of Expenditure, said that apart from railways, the number of vacant posts in defense (civil) is 2.64 lakh, home There are 1.43 lakh vacant posts in Postal, 90,050 posts and 80,243 posts in Revenue.
