Amphan will become a super cyclone, Yellow Alert announced in nine districts of Kerala

The Amphan cyclone, which formed in the Bay of Bengal, will become a super cyclone by this evening, the Meteorological Department said. At present, the speed of Umpun in the sea is 260 km / h.

Heavy rains have been issued in the coastal areas of Odisha and West Bengal. Winds are expected to reach speeds of up to 155 km / h on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Kerala receives widespread rainfall due to cyclone impacts. Yellow Alert has been declared in nine districts of the state. The Meteorological Department has issued a Yellow Alert for the heavy rains in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram districts. Thunderstorms and strong winds of up to 40 km / h are expected to continue until Thursday. The disaster management authority said people should be on the alert.
