BPSC Recruitment 2024: Applications started again for recruitment to the post of Block Horticulture Officer

Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has reopened the window of online application form for recruitment to the posts of Block Garden Officer. The commission has taken this decision after the order of Patna High Court in the case of Ranjit Kumar Ray and others vs State of Bihar and others. According to the notice issued by BPSC, the Hon’ble High Court has issued an order in this regard on 16 May 2024.

Bihar Public Service Commission is to recruit 318 posts of Block Horticulture Officer in the Agriculture Department of the state under advertisement number 24/2024. The advertisement for this recruitment of BPSC was published on 23 January 2024. At the same time, the department has 

Application Eligibility: 
A total of 318 posts are to be selected in this recruitment of BPSC. Candidates willing to apply in this recruitment should have a graduate degree in science, especially in horticulture science. Vacancies were sent to BPSC on February 3:
Horticulture officers will soon be appointed in all 318 blocks of the state. To complete the selection process of Block Horticulture Officer, the Agriculture Department had sent the vacancy to BPSC through General Administration in early February itself. Schemes related to horticulture are affected due to lack of horticulture officers. Currently, there are regular horticulture officers in 40 blocks. There are horticulture officers on contract in 148 blocks. After the appointment of 318 block horticulture officers, the posts of horticulture officers will be filled in all blocks.

The Block Horticulture Officer will be able to get promotion to the post of Senior Horticulture Officer. The post of Senior Block Horticulture Officer has been recognized. For appointment to the post of Block Horticulture Officer, it is mandatory for the candidates to have BSc Agriculture with Horticulture. Then BSc Agriculture Elective should be passed. Horticulture officers will be finally selected after written examination and interview from BPSC.
