Kerala Blasters coach Ivan Vukomanovic is finally in Kochi after waiting and rumors. Vukomanovic arrived on an Emirates flight this morning. The fact that the Serbian coach did not join the team even after two weeks of the Blasters’ pre-season camp was the reason for many rumors. The concerns were related to the fines and bans that followed last season’s playoff game boycott. The AIFF committee has rejected the arguments put forward by Blasters as the reason for abandoning the match and leaving the field. Blasters were blamed for the action of the coach who led the team out of the field, including the former players. After these incidents, even the fans shared the concern that the coach was late in arriving.
Vukomanovic’s arrival came without warning as rumors began to swirl that the coach would no longer be with the team. This is the third season the Serbian coach has come to Kochi with Blasters. Vukomanovic is the coach with the most wins for the Blasters, leading the team to the finals in his first season and the playoffs in his second.
