Now research work will get momentum in the universities of Bihar. The education department of the state government has decided to restart the pending PhD work in the universities. They were closed since April 5 in the second wave of corona infection.
On Tuesday, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, Sanjay Kumar has directed the Vice-Chancellors of all the universities of the state that they can start the work related to the pending PhD oral examination in their respective places. Informing the Vice-Chancellors about this decision of the Education Department, he has asked to start the work of ‘Viva’ by following the guidelines issued for Covid-19. He has said that the earlier decision regarding this will be considered as amended.
It is noteworthy that all the educational institutions including all the colleges, schools, universities in the state were closed from April 5, 2021 in view of the second wave of corona infection. In view of the reduction in the rate of corona infection, schools-colleges and universities above class X have been opened from July 12 this month, but the government had banned taking any kind of examination in schools and universities. On the initiative of Director of Higher Education Dr. Rekha Kumari, now the Additional Chief Secretary has issued orders regarding exemption for taking PhD Viva.
