Bangalore drug case: Kannada actress Sanjana Galrani’s house raided

 A raid has been in the house of Kannada film star Sanjana Galrani in a drug case. The raid on a residence in Indira Nagar in the city was carried out by the Central Crime Branch Police (CCB) at around 7 am today. Police asked her to appear for questioning at the Crime Branch headquarters yesterday, but she did not co-operate.

Nikki Galrani, the heroine of Tamil and Malayalam films, is their younger sister. Kannada actress Ragini Divedi, who was arrested last Friday, is still in police custody. Meanwhile, police had arrested Niaz Mohammad, a resident of Aroor, on suspicion of being a drug dealer. The crime branch said that Niaz had a close relationship with Sanjana and was present at night parties attended by many prominent actresses in the film industry and was involved in drug dealing. Niaz Mohammad, who came to Bangalore five years ago, is active in modeling and fashion photography.

Police are investigating whether the arrested Niaz has any connection with the Malayalam cinema. Niaz’s connection with serial actress Anigha and Ernakulam native Mohammad Anoop, who was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in connection with a drug case, is also being investigated.

Kannada actor Ragini Dwivedi has been arrested and taken into custody for her alleged involvement in a drug case, Bengaluru police had said on Friday. “Ragini Dwivedi (Kannada actress) has been arrested and taken into custody,” Patil had said in a statement.

Two more accused have been arrested in this case, the police had said. Notably, Kannada filmmaker Indrajit Lankesh, a couple of weeks back, had appeared before the CCB and revealed information about the use of drugs in the Kannada film industry.
