Actress and dubbing artiste Bhagyalakshmi and her friends have been harassing Vijay P Nair, a controversial YouTuber, for posting a video insulting women. Now Bhagyalakshmi has sent a letter to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on this issue. In the letter, Bhagyalakshmi has referred to Vijay P. Nair, director Shanthivila Dinesh and the negligence of the Kerala Police.
When inquired about the complaint, the reply was that Vijay P Nair seems to be a person with mental problems. Police say there is no provision in cyber law in this regard. In the letter, Bhagyalakshmi also demanded that legislation be enacted immediately to curb cyber attacks.
Isn’t such an answer the greatest proof of how trivial the police view violence against women? Earlier, when a complaint was lodged, the police said that there was no department to take action against such atrocities. The letter states that the family life of some of us is in a state of disarray and some have even resorted to suicide.
The Thiruvananthapuram CJM court yesterday rejected the bail plea of Vijay P Nair, who was remanded by the police in the case. The CJM court rejected the bail application and observed that the allegation against the accused was of a serious nature and that the language used by him in the YouTube video was against the woman.
