AR Rahman and Irish music band U2 join hands together- to release new song – their 1st show in India

Irish music band U2 announced that their first-ever show in India will be held in Mumbai. The band will be closing their ‘Joshua Tree tour’ in honor of their 1987 album of the same name at the DY Patil Stadium on December 15. The Joshua Tree Tour 2017 is a celebration of the original album and tour of the same name undertaken by U2 in 1987 reflecting the group’s fascination for the American landscape, its people, literature, and myths. The tour features the complete Joshua Tree album played in sequence, as well as a selection of highlights from U2’s extensive catalogue of songs. The U2’s first-ever entry to India, the band has announced the release of ‘Ahimsa’, a lyric video made in collaboration with music maestro AR Rahman. ‘Ahimsa’ – the Sanskrit word for non-violence, aims at celebrating the spiritual diversity of India.2019 will also see the release of four highlights from U2’s extensive catalogue of songs, remixed by local Indian artists. The tracks will be available on all music streaming platforms.A.R. Rahman said his collaboration with the Irish band, “Ahimsa requires courage and strength. I don’t believe that any more… It doesn’t bend towards justice, it has to be bent towards justice,” Paul David Hewson, known by his stage name Bono, the lead vocalist of U2, said.
