Anurag Kashyap said streaming platforms in India are treating filmmakers like the East India Company.

When asked in an interview about the state of independent cinema in India, Anurag had this to say. Due to the lockdown, independent cinema is confused and in a very bad condition. The streaming scene was the grip of Indian independent cinema. But during the lockdown, even mainstream movies started streaming. So streamers prioritize mainstream over independent movies. Anurag Kashyap says that efforts should be made to survive it.
