Nepal’s new map will be amended in the present day. The amendments to the map are being tabled in parliament for constitutional amendments. Nepal’s law minister Shivmaya Tumbahangpe presented the amendment bill on the 31st of last month. Last month, Nepal had four territories listed as the Indian border. India has protested on the issue and the Army Chief has warned.
Nepal has made a strong claim that the territories of Kalapani, Lipulek and Limpiyadura on the border belong to them. The border details are listed in the Nepal Constitution Schedule 3. The amendment will only be approved if there is a one-third majority. The ruling Communist Party of Nepal currently has 174 members. Opposition Nepal Congress has only 63 seats.
