Ajith Kumar is spending time with his family before the release of his action film Thunivu. In less than a week, the actor will return to the big screen with Thunivu, directed by H Vinoth. The film will be released on January 12 and will compete with Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu at the box office. Thunivu is also being released in Telugu as Thegimu. The Telugu version will compete with Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya and Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy at the box office.

It was previously reported that Thunivu will be based on a bank robbery. The director, however, denied the reports and stated that the film is not based on a bank robbery that occurred in Punjab. The director revealed that Thunivu’s plot is set in a dishonest world with few antagonists. On January 31, the promising trailer was released on Zee Studios’ official YouTube channel and the team members’ social media accounts.

Manju Warrier will play the female lead in the movie. Manju, on the other hand, does not play Ajith Kumar’s romantic interest in the film, but rather his close ally.
