Aishwarya-Lekshmi

When Aishwarya Lekshmi donned a Varanasi saree for the teaser launch of “Ponniyin Selvan,” she displayed her genuine royal beauty and her status as a woman of noble birth. In a lavish ceremony held at Chennai Trade Centre on July 8, Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus “Ponniyin Selvan,” also known as #PS1, had its first trailer, or teaser. Aishwarya Lekshmi, who would portray Poonguzhali in the movie, attended the ceremony in a stunning outfit.

The stunning actress put on a Varanasi silk brocade saree that was molten gold. The handwoven saree was really stunning, and Aishwarya accessorized it with a maroon V-neck blouse. She wore the exquisite handwoven saree with respect for its rich tradition and added a choker and matching earrings to complete the look. Aishwarya accentuated the appearance with a bindi and a half-updo for her middle-parted hair. It goes without saying that she looked stunning in the outfit and projected a regal charm.

“#Poonguzhali playing dress up for #PS1 teaser launch event. What a week this is turning out to be!” Aishwarya Lekshmi captioned sharing the pictures.

Speaking about working with Mani Ratnam, she mentioned, “Mani Ratnam sir! I never thought I’d work with him. These are things that we dream of. I did have a wish to see him but never thought I’d be part of his film. So, for me, it’s a big thing. A set is how the director is. It is their energy that influences everyone, including the spot boy. Mani sir was the most disciplined person on this set and it traveled down to all of us. That discipline is my takeaway from the film.”
