An FIR has been lodged against the makers of the web series Mirzapur for allegedly showing religious sentiments, showing derogatory material and illegal relationships, as well as tarnishing the image of the city in UP. Let me tell you that an FIR has been registered against Tadwan, another web series recently on Amazon Prime, for hurting religious sentiments and there is a lot of ruckus on it on social media. Meanwhile, there is a possibility of something similar about the web series Mirzapur, which came a few days ago.

It is against the makers of FIR ‘Mirzapur’ Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar and Bhowmik Gondalia under Section 295A of IPC (intentional and malicious act intended to offend religious sentiments of any class by insulting their religion or religious beliefs) 504 (breach of peace with intent to offend intentionally) is recorded with sections 505 (responsible for public misconduct) and IT Act.

This FIR has been lodged in the rural police station of Mirzapur on the complaint of Arvind Chaturvedi. According to a report by Indian Express, Mirzapur SP Ajay Kumar stated, “Complainant Arvind Chaturvedi alleges that the web series shows abusive, abusive content and illegal relationships. The second season of Mirzapur premiered on Amazon Prime in October last year. The entire web series seems to revolve around Pankaj Tripathi, who played the role of a local don by the name of Kaalin Bhaiya in the series. In this second season of the series, a character Guddu Pandit (Ali Fazal) is seen avenging the death of his family members from Kaalin Bhaiya’s son and heir Munna Tripathi (Divyendu Sharma).

Reviewing the series, Hindustan Times wrote, “In a show that works with some of the best actors of Hindi cinema, Pankaj is seen in a different style. He expresses himself in a different kind of calm. Has also remained a star. However, the people who worked with him in this series have also done a good job. Ali Fazal has played Guddu while Shweta Tripathi plays Golu.
