Aanaparambile World Cup will release on big screens on this date

There can’t be a better time for a football-based movie to come out, especially with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 scheduled to start on November 20. After almost three years of waiting, debutant filmmaker Nikhil Premraj’s Aanaparambile World Cup is about to release in theatres.

The upcoming Malayalam film, which stars Balu Varghese, Jo Paul Ancheri, Lukman Avaran, Nishanth Sagar, IM Vijayan, Antony Varghese, and Jumana Khan in significant roles, is a fantasy-infused children’s sports movie.

Prior to the Indian Super League, the squad had a partnership with the Kerala Blasters football team. The Kerala Blasters play their home games at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kaloor, Kochi, where the team also unveiled its trailer.

In the movie, the filmmaker mentioned that “Seven children play the main characters in the film. They love the game but they don’t have a ground or even funds to buy a football. How a group of youngsters help them out and train them for a U-14 tournament held by Kerala Blasters that has several big teams, form the plot.”

The film serves as Antony’s debut in the genre. Jis Joy’s thriller Innale Vare, which debuted on Sony LIV earlier this year, marked his transition from action movies to thrillers. Before starting production on Tinu Pappachan’s action-thriller Chaaver, which also stars Kunchacko Boban and Arjun Ashokan, the actor signed on for a comedy and a romcom.

In the next movie Aanaparambile World Cup, which will be released in theatres on November 25, Antony will play a football player who accepts to coach the group of children.
