Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday had called for extreme activity against individuals disregarding lockdown forced hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s’ declaration on Tuesday night for a 21-day national lockdown with an end goal to contain the coronavirus spread. On the main day of lockdown in Kerala on Tuesday, baffling the legislature, a few people abused the guidelines by pointlessly venturing out of the house. Supposedly, the police have enlisted 402 cases over the state, for abusing the lockdown rules.

In terms of the total number of cases booked against offenders, Thiruvananthapuram district leads with 123 cases followed by Kollam (70), Kottayam (10), Alappuzha (24), Idukki (48), Ernakulam (69), Thrissur (21), Wayanad (13), Malappuram (6), Kannur (10), Kozhikode (2) and Palakkad (1). Meanwhile, In Pathanamthitta, police took action against 18 individuals, suspected of coronavirus, for breaking their quarantine
